We would like to remind you that the Opening cerimony takes place at 16 (4 p.m.) in Sala Nettuno of the Hilton Park Palace followed by two key notes and the welcome cocktail, so make sure you come to the registration desk in time.

CHAIRPERSON'S WELCOME
The 2009 EAPL's Conference has been planned to provide a worldwide perspective on Psychology and Law. The aim 75 to integrate new methods, tools and methodologies with the latest research finding, ideas and theory in the field of psychology and law.
We have the honor to organize Conference after so many successful past editions and after the huge conference in Maastricht.
Our objective is to organize a Conference that focusses on recognizing and evaluating emerging ideas and theories from research into its practical application. Therefore we particularly encourage young researchers to partecipate in the conference.
The theme of the 2009 EAPL conference is Crime victims and the violation of rights, though speakers are encouraged to present their work in all fields of psychology and law. We want to encourage contributions which describe developments designed to stimulate global and multidisciplinary approaches towards future research. The aim of the 2009 EAPL Conference is to provide a common forum far leading International authorities, young researchers, practitioners, research planners, to exchange thoughts and future perspectives on the themes of Civil cases, Decision making in forensic experts, Eyewitness evidence, False confessions, Forensic psychodiagnostics, policing, Juvenile delinquency, Lie detection, Malingering and deception, Mental illness and offending, Offender profiling, Risk assessment, Psychopathy and Rehabilitation of offenders and especially on Victims. The day prior to the conference we will organize dedicated workshops designed to create colloquial and informal atmosphere to exchange knowledge and stimulate the creation of new collaborations and acquire new skills. One outstanding feature of the 2009 EAPL Conference is its venue. We have, in fact, chosen Sorrento at a fabulous location by the sea in one of the most attractive area in the Costiera Amalfitana in the South of ltaly. The Conference will take place at the Hilton Palace Congress Centre that combines a high quality with a structured venue.
Sorrento and the Costiera Amalfitana are regarded as among the most beautiful areas in the world. This marvelous place is rich in culture, has beautiful coasts and good food; in September when most crowds and the summer Sorrento heat have gone, it is possible to walk along with birdsong and the flagrance of flowers and, after the conference, to choose a beach and dive into the crystal clear sea.
Our motto is do the best things in the best way, combining scientific quality in a relaxing and reinvigorating atmosphere.
